Soluble substances such as aluminum chloride, mercury chloride and rubber. It can be miscible with ethanol, ether, chloroform and benzene. Soluble in about 10000 times the volume of water.

3. It is used as a standard material for chromatographic analysis.
4. Insect repellents and fat extractants for adhesives, and organic synthesis.
